So much chaos and bloodshed. Bloodshed. Traveling tomorrow expect a post out in a week.

A source who wishes for good reason to remain anonymous. This is journalism and truth folks, we have to have these discussions and we have to continue the tradition of speaking truth to power or just heck…. speaking what we all know is true. As a science writer I have to “take a position but don’t be too zealous.” So I’ll just report what I think—by God’s grace I hope I know—what is worth reading and thinking about:
“
There is a particularly appalling feature of the arguments from Hamas's apologists. The claim that atrocities visited upon Israeli civilians were not just justified by Israel's treatment of Palestinians, but that the sheer magnitude of these horrors is a necessary reflection of how Palestinians have been somehow forced to feel about Israelis. It is a logic that opens the gates of hell. All torture, rape, mass murder becomes the legitimate manifestation of whatever grievance Hamas feels -- international law, morality, humanity be damned. We should not dismiss how straight the path is from such regressive rationalizing back to the gas chambers.

These voices need to be heard. You can count on my writing to be, as absolutely far as I can tell, well reported, accurate, and correctly analyzed. If I fail, I want you to tell me that! I’ll be opening up a chat feature for paid subscribers soon. Thanks again, all.
And keep in mind, I’m looking for strong voices, who can help make sense of this without saying what other outlets are saying and so saying the same things. And I’m hearing you here!
Thank you,
Erik J. Larson
I want everyone to be heard, and I am going to be very very slow to discourage thoughts on this forum, but there are certain forms of bigotry I won't tolerate.
And… C’mon! Thank you! Please everyone voice your opinions but make it a good strong moment for you and let’s tone down the hate! I get it. Life is difficult. But we’re going to overcome this. We need to talk….
